FOUNDED

1968

Parnaby Cyclones is a family-owned manufacturer based in Ferryhill, County Durham, designing and building separation and wash plant equipment for the mining, quarrying, recycling, and minerals processing industries. With installations across five continents and a 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the North East, they've spent over half a century solving some of the most complex material separation challenges in the world.

In 2025, Parnaby held an open day at their Ferryhill site to showcase three new products to existing customers, industry partners, and prospective buyers — the Parnaby One-Tip, the Parnaby 5-20 Barrel, and a bespoke separation solution developed for a specific client application. They brought SIPTA in to document the event and produce a series of product explainer films that could be used in sales conversations, trade show presentations, and across their digital channels.

THE BRIEF

Five videos in two days — three of them explaining highly technical machinery

The brief called for five distinct pieces of content over two shoot days: three product explainer films, an open day highlights reel, and a customer case study. The product explainers were the most demanding. Each machine — the One-Tip, the 5-20 Barrel, and the bespoke solution — operates on complex engineering principles that aren't immediately visible to the camera. Separation technology doesn't look dramatic from the outside. The challenge was finding a way to communicate what these machines do, why they matter, and what makes Parnaby's approach different — in a format that would hold the attention of a buyer who might be watching on a phone between meetings.

Layered on top of that was the scheduling pressure of a live open day — a moving programme of demonstrations, customer conversations, and product walkthroughs that couldn't be paused for a camera crew.
